University Grants Commission (UGC) conducts national level test to aspiring teaching faculties in Universities and Colleges.
This National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted regularly twice a year in June and December.

The test consists of the following  three papers :::
Paper 1       :  General Aptitude
Paper 2 & 3 :  On Specific Subject

All three test are conducted on the same day  with objective type questions.  Following is the test format

While paper 1 is common to all candidates, Paper 2 & 3 will be on specific subjects chosen. C-CAT conducts course on paper 1 covering 10 modules as given below:

3. Reading Comprehension
4. Communication
5. Logical Reasoning
6. Reasoning (Including Mathematical)
7. Data Interpretation
8. Information and Communication Technology
9. People and Environment
10. Higher Education System: Governance, Policy & Administration

For Paper 2 & 3, following three subjects are taken up for classroom program,
1. Commerce
2. Computer Science
3. Management
4. English

For other subject, paper 2 & 3 will be offered as and when the minimum batch size is met.
